Tentel engineering has designed a dial torque gauge series specifically for working on video cassette recorders. There are different models to choose from for diagnosing various tape formats including: DVC, VHS, S-VHS, MII, D3/D5, Beta, Betacam, and U-Matic.
Torque readings provide a diagnosis of the various clutch, brake, belt and idler performance levels and allow a more accurate evaluation of even marginal operating problems. Customer satisfaction is enhanced by finding marginal transport problems at the same time you're fixing current problems. The T.E.A.C.H. (Tentel Easy Access Cassette Housing), for VHS transports, allow torque measurements to be made, often without even removing the elevator assembly.
The integral adapter means no additional pieces to buy, and it's so universal it adapts to virtually any VCR. Design features include a long, narrow shape that gets into places other torque gauges can't; thus saving time from annoying machine disassembly. Each gauge has a large, easy to read scale, calibrated in gm-cm, for direct reading of factory specifications.
On some applications, the motorized torque driver smoothly and effortlessly simulates the proper tape pulling speed. The motorized driver and dial torque gauge, successfully replace the cumbersome dummy reel and spring scale measurement shown in several factory service manuals.
